Wonder - The Flow ( Original & Bakongo remix) OUT NOW
Review from Boomkat
“OK, so we really weren’t expecting this. DJ Wonder, formerly of Roll Deep and maker of milestones such as ‘What’ and ‘Chi Flute’ switches wholesale to a brand of deep trancing tech-house backed with a rugged rerub from Bakongo aka Roska. The obvious precedents for this sound come from the Funky mutations of Deep Teknologi and Cooly G, but we’ve not heard it taken to these lengths within the post-Grime producer pool before. Mixing the deepest ends of Dennis Ferrer with shades of Jerome Sydenham’s big room style and a lush flourish of Detroit strings, Wonder’s really brewed something a little bit special. On the remix tip, Bakongo largely dispenses with the floating central motif for a more stripped and kinky rhythm workout built on plunging subs and a robotic electro synth buried deep inside. We’d strongly recommend checking both of these out asap - TIPPED!”
